LOL: Life of Leo: Mom Sells Brain Toniq

  • Tillman · 1 year ago
I think I am going to try a sample. I don't need a energy drink but a nice alternative to soda pop would be nice.
  • Lopaka · 1 year ago
OK,OK......Isn't that John C Dvorak with a HAT on?!?!?!
  • Jeremy · 1 year ago
Mama Laporte looks a little bit like John C. Dvorak in a hat. :P

(Please note that this was not intended as an insult but as a random observation.)
  • James · 1 year ago
What can I say, I laughed. Pure Genius.
  • Shawna · 1 year ago

You seem to be promoting Brain Tonic quite a bit for someone who is not a "sponsor". I have heard you put down GoDaddy and other site like that who do a pay per purchase ad deal and who don't pay for branding. You are and have been extremely branding this product. I am wondering if they are a real sponsor and you are just trying to prove the whole "product placement" or if they are just giving you free product.

I am not complaining, but just am curious to know what going on.
  • leolaporte · 1 year ago
I've told the story on the air several times - they approached me about doing ads. I said we had to try it first so they sent us some. And we all loved it. I was interested in proving the power of product placement so we just started plugging it on air for fun. They started selling Brain Toniq. A lot of BT. So they offered to give us 15% of sales and a 20% off code. I thought that was a good deal for both you and TWiT so I said yes. But the essential point is not to make money right now, but to show that product placement on TWiT Live works so that someone will come along and pay the big bucks for it.
  • James · 1 year ago
Seems like a fair enough proposition to me. It has certainly got me interested in giving it a try, particularly with that discount.
  • Laforge129 · 1 year ago
Yes Product placement is very useful and helps sell the products you like. You have to like what you advertise or you have no leg to stand on!!

Hey Leo, I saw that episode, I was a hooping and hollering at your mom, she was great!
  • TheSleepyGeek · 1 year ago
That's awesome. I didn't see the episode but it must be great to be able to include your mom in something like this. She's an internet star!

  • lisafind · 1 year ago

  • John · 1 year ago
When is Mom Laporte getting her own TWiT show?
  • Ronald Wiplinger · 1 year ago
I listen to twit in the can (I mean mp3 player) on the way to the office and back. I have no chance to write down web sites or other "important" data. Even if you spell it several times, I cannot write it down.

Is there a short note somewhere about these kinds of data? Like all mentioned web sites!
I am not a lawyer to get a "protocol" of the podcast.

BTW, I tried Audible.com, ... unfortunately it is only for eXPired OS, and I use Ubuntu. I could install the downloadmanager with WINE, but it remains EMPTY.

Leo, leave Jerry and Bill alone. This second commercial is great. It's entertaining and I can't wait until the next. Does the talking pizza box commercial come close?
